Kiwi Yachting has been supplying the Marine Industry with quality equipment since 1988. Representing world-renowned brands such as Lewmar, Wichard and Baltic, it now encompasses a diverse spectrum from manufacturing (AutoAnchor) and boat building (Southern Pacific Inflatables) through to retail (Safety at Sea). The distribution arm now reaches throughout Australasia with over 40 major brands in conjunction with sister-company MarinePlus.
The foundations were built by veteran yachtsman Richard Macalister and his connections racing on Sir Peter Blake’s Ceramco in the Whitbread Round the World Race. Kiwi Yachting came to supply major contracts with Whitbread and America’s Cup campaigns in the 1990s and 2000’s. European brands such as Facnor, Wichard, Profurl and Oceanair (Dometic) were joined by dinghy componentry from Extreme, Allen Brothers and Superspars.
In more recent years Kiwi Yachting has evolved with America’s Cup Skipper Dean Barker coming on board as a Director. It acquired AutoAnchor, a world leader in windlass rode counting electronics, Southern Pacific Inflatables, a long established manufacturer of inflatable boats, and Safety at Sea, a national supplier of quality safety equipment. The company has adapted to the growth of the trailer boat market with its distribution of Viper Drum Winches by Bell Marine.
In 2016 Kiwi Yachting acquired long time partner MarinePlus in Melbourne, Australia. MarinePlus has similar values to that of Kiwi Yachting; quality marine equipment and the distribution of common brands like Baltic and BSI Rigging. Together Kiwi Yachting and MarinePlus supply to a large network of marine retailers, boat yards and after-markets throughout Australasia. We pride ourselves on being able to offer customers the “complete package” of system design, sales, installation, maintenance, repair and replacement.
